La Voz Special Needs Families Ambassador Optimist Club (Organización sin fines de lucro) está diseñada para brindar apoyo basado en servicio comunitario a padres de habla hispana con hijos que tienen necesidades especiales. Como parte de su proyecto comunitario, La Voz Special Needs Families Ambassador Optimist Club se asociará con la organización sin fines de lucro Miracle League of San Diego. La Miracle League of San Diego es una organización benéfica que ofrece a niños con desafíos intelectuales o físicos la oportunidad de jugar béisbol, para niños desde los 5 años hasta adultos. Además, el club ofrece un evento comunitario anual de Photo with Santa y un evento comunitario anual Amigo FUN Walk/Run. El club también colabora con la alianza FERIA (Families, Educators, Resources, IHE’s, and Agencies working together = Student Success), bajo los auspicios de San Diego State University, que proporciona oportunidades de capacitación en liderazgo para padres, así como con el Bonita Optimist Club y la Bonita Optimist Foundation. Para la mayoría de estos padres, esta es la primera vez que participan en un club de servicio comunitario. ¡Los miembros están entusiasmados de participar en el club y de llamarse a sí mismos OPTIMISTS!
La Voz Special Needs Families Ambassador Optimist Club (Non-Profit) is designed to provide community service-based support for Spanish-speaking parents with children who have special needs. As part of its community project, the La Voz Special Needs Families Ambassador Optimist Club will partner with the Non-Profit Miracle League of San Diego. The Miracle League of San Diego is a charitable organization that provides children with intellectual or physical challenges an opportunity to play baseball for children ages 5 years old to adults. In addition, the club offers an annual community Photo with Santa and an annual Amigo FUN Walk/Run community event. The club also collaborates with the FERIA Partnership (Families, Educators, Resources, IHE’s, and Agencies working together = Student Success), under the auspices of San Diego State University, which provides parent leadership training opportunities as well as the Bonita Optimist Club and Bonita Optimist Foundation. For the majority of these parents, this is their first time participating in a community service club. The members are excited to participate in the club and to call themselves OPTIMISTS!
Asegurar que los jóvenes y adultos jóvenes con discapacidades del desarrollo no estén aislados, sino que sean incluidos en actividades sociales y deportivas más amplias de la comunidad. La Voz Special Families Ambassador Optimist Club ofrece participación de padres de habla hispana y capacitación para fortalecer conocimientos, empoderándolos para convertirse en líderes y mentores. Los padres ayudan a guiar a sus hijos para que alcancen su máximo potencial y logren sus metas de vivir una vida plena con independencia, autodeterminación, inclusión, dignidad y calidad de vida.
Al brindar a jóvenes con discapacidades del desarrollo oportunidades que fomenten la alegría, la esperanza, la inclusión y la participación en la Miracle League of San Diego y en el evento comunitario anual AMIGO FUN Walk/Run patrocinado por La Voz Special Families Ambassador Optimist Club, así como actividades de enriquecimiento artístico ofrecidas por el club, y al fomentar positivamente el optimismo a través de un “Circle of Friends” para sus padres, hermanos adultos, advocates and supporters, cuyo objetivo es promover y alcanzar una vida de plenitud para sus hijos mediante las reuniones mensuales del Optimist Club Fellowship y viviendo según el Optimist Creed.
To ensure that youth and young adults with developmental disabilities are not isolated but are included in broader social and community sport activities, facilitating independence and self-determination is our essential goal. La Voz Special Families Ambassador Optimist Club offers Spanish-speaking parent engagement and knowledge-building parent training, empowering them to become parent leaders and mentors. The parents help guide their children to attain their full potential and achieve their goals to live a fulfilling life with independence, self-determination, inclusion, dignity, and a quality of life.
By providing young people with developmental disabilities opportunities that foster joy, hope, inclusion, and involvement in the Miracle League of San Diego and La Voz Special Families Ambassador Optimist Club-sponsored annual community AMIGO FUN Walk/Run Event, art enrichment activities offered by the club as well as by positively fostering optimism through a “Circle of Friends” for their parents, adult siblings. advocates and supporters, whose goal is to promote and attain a life of fulfillment for their children through the Optimist Club Fellowship’s monthly meetings and living by the Optimist Creed.
